Resilience in Chronic Disaster Cycles

This presentation will engage audience members on topics of individual and community resilience in chronic disaster cycles. The presentation will include emerging ideas regarding how resilience can be supported in disaster response and recovery workforce cultures, while also fostering broader community resilience.

About Maggie Jarry, M.Div.

Maggie Jarry, M.Div. is the Emergency Coordinator for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) within the U.S. Department of Human Services. As the Emergency Coordinator for SAMHSA, Ms. Jarry coordinates with government and non-governmental partners to support U.S. disaster and emergency mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery efforts. Ms. Jarry’s career spans more than 20 years in both government and non-governmental disaster response/recovery and behavioral health systems. She holds a Master of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary in the City of New York at Columbia University; a Master of Science in Nonprofit Management from the Milano School of International Affairs, Management and Urban Policy at The New School; and bachelors degrees from the University of AZ
