About Kobey Stiles

Kobey Stiles was born and raised in Northeast Oklahoma. He worked with his parents on their farm, where watching and understanding the weather was very important. Kobey graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Civil/Structural Engineering and is a USAR Desert Shield / Desert Storm combat veteran. With over 20 years of executive management experience in construction for both the Oil and Gas industry as well as Renewables. He is passionate about developing and implementing high-impact strategies that make a difference including supporting the expansion and awareness of lightning protection.

As a self-proclaimed “weather geek” Kobey became interested in a technology originally created by Nikola Tesla which he patented in the early 1900s, that actually prevents lightning from striking within a given area of protection.
